A concrete contractor in Balch Springs since 2023

New concrete driveway curves toward a large brick home, with a white double garage door and landscaped shrubs.

How I got into concrete, and why prep comes first

I learned concrete working beside my dad on weekends and summers, and in 2023 I started Balch Springs Concrete right here in Balch Springs. I'm the careful type who checks the forms, the wood frames that hold the wet concrete, twice and measures again before a truck gets called, because what's under the concrete and inside the forms decides how it holds up. The base is the part nobody sees on day one, so it's usually the first thing people want to trim from a budget, and it's the last place I'd cut.

As a concrete contractor in Balch Springs, we hear from homeowners about driveways, patios and walks, and from builders and property owners about slabs and footings, here and across the cities around us, like Mesquite, Garland, Forney and Lancaster. We're known for flatwork, the flat pours like driveways, patios and walks, that comes out level and square, and for estimates that spell out what's in them. If there's something I can't know until the ground's open, I'll tell you that up front, since I'd rather say I don't know yet than guess and have you find out later.

What you can count on when we take your job

We're licensed and insured, and every job comes with one promise. Your satisfaction, guaranteed. Here's what that looks like on your job.

The person who measures is there on pour day

I come out for every estimate myself, and I run the job on site with our crew the day it's poured. What we talked over in your driveway is what gets built, because nobody's working from a secondhand note.

A written estimate you can compare to other bids

Your estimate lists what's included, like the base work and any rebar, the steel inside a slab that helps hold it together. You can set it next to another bid and see exactly where the two differ.

Forms, steel and grade checked by hand

We walk the forms, check the steel and set the grade by hand before any concrete is ordered, the way I was taught. Grade is the slope the slab sits at, and getting it right is what keeps water running away from your house instead of toward it.

How a job goes from your first call to a finished slab

Every job runs through the same four steps, so you know what's next and why. If you're still sorting out what you need, our home page lays out the work we do.

  1. Call or send us a message

Call (214) 286-6733 or send a note through our contact page, and we'll reply within one business day. Tell us what you're seeing, like cracks, sinking or water pooling by the house, and I'll set a time to come look.

  2. I walk the job and measure it

The estimate is free, on site and comes with no obligation. I look at the subgrade, the ground the slab will sit on, where your water runs and how much old concrete has to come out, since those usually move the price more than the finish does, and then I write down what the price covers.

  3. We check permits and set the pour date

We check with the city or county office on each job, and when it needs a permit, we file it and book the inspections. Your pour date gets planned around those, so you're not left guessing when the truck shows up.

  4. We pour, cut joints and let it cure

We pour when the weather lets the top set up right, then cut control joints, the shallow grooves that give the slab a planned place to crack. After that comes curing, the wait while the concrete gains strength, and I'll tell you when it's ready for feet and when it's ready for your car.
